My wonderful life

I love reading all my friend's blogs and it got me thinking about what I would like to write about. I've learned over the past few years how to take time and relax with my family. It isn't always easy, especially when the computer calls out to me all the time!! But I've tried really hard this week to stay away from the computer as much as possible. We took the week off and have spent time together as a family. We've been to Mt. Airy, ate at Goober's 52 (a great restaurant if you're ever in Mt. Airy!), went to the farmers market and Guilford Mill. We've also spent a few days just sleeping late and lounging in the back yard by the kids pool. It's been very relaxing and has made me realize how few times I really sit down & relax with my husband and kids. I'm a multi-tasker. I can't just watch TV, I have to be doing something else. Usually working on the computer! It's so hard for me to just sit in the back yard and do absolutely nothing! But I've realized what a wonderful life I have and I need to take the time to enjoy it!! How many times do we actually take the time to sit outside in the evening and watch the sun go down. My son loves to watch the sunsets. So our family has started going out into the backyard in the evenings and watch the sunset. I LOVE IT!! Although, I still hear my computer calling out to me to check my home or work emails or read everyone else's blogs, I'm trying hard to ignore my computer these days. My kids are growing up so fast and I want to enjoy all the sunsets I can with them. How about you??

Not real sure how you so accurately described "matt island". I was actually making it up, and didn't think that it was real.... but after reading your description, I'd think you've visited!!! How much is a one-way ticket?

Welcome to the world of blogging! By the way, it has been known that some who visit Matt's Island never come back...it can be a very strange placel!

I, too, am trying to find the balance between family, work and "stuff". Your sunset adventures sound wonderful!

I will be at church tonight in Michael's study. I'm looking foward to it!
