Das Not Funny Friday

It's Friday again...wow vacation weeks sure do go by fast! So here are the funny things my kids did this week.

Jake has dreams about his friend "Tree" every so often. I'm not sure why tree is his friend, since he tells me in his dreams that he always chases & scares him! But anyway, we went to the farmers market up town a few weeks ago and this sweet lady named Margie gave Jake a Rose of Sharon tree for 2 hugs! No kidding, the kid amazes me! So we came home and planted his "friend" tree in the back yard (of course he talked to his tree all the way home!). He waters it every day and talks to it and tells me this is his friend tree. He got up this morning and saw that the wind was blowing and so was his tree. His response to this..mommmy, my tree is growing up to be a bigger tree, just like I'm getting to be a bigger boy. See, he's even blowing in the wind now. He's now out there talking to his tree about how good it's doing drinking the water so it can grow just like he does!

We went to the zoo this week and on our way there we were talking about all the animals we would see. Brent mentioned seeing the different types of fish, including bass. Jake said...Daddy, what is a bass? I know it doesn't sound funny, but try leaving off the "b" and hearing your 5 year old ask the question! We all lost it laughing so hard. Of course, Jake had no idea what we were laughing at, so he asked the same question again. Brent said, Jake that is another name for a donkey, but a bass is a type of fish! I sure hope they don't talk about donkeys in Sunday School anytime soon!!
