Benefit for Kate...Please come

We are organizing a Spaghetti Benefit and Silent Auction for Kate this weekend, June 19th from 11am - 7pm at Rich Fork Baptist Church in Thomasville. If you've read my blog before, you've heard me mention Kate and her struggles. She was diagnosed with leukemia August 2008 at the age of 3. She has since undergone chemo treatments and was thought to be in remission. January this year, her cancer returned. Her family wasn't given many options--either an experimental chemo that would hopefully kill the cancer so she could receive a bone marrow transplant or hospice. Thankfully, the chemo did the job and she received a bone marrow transplant from her big brother, Jarod, in May. She is still at Duke recovering from the transplant and while her battle is not over, she is a fighter and will tell anyone and everyone that God has healed her several times throughout the past few years. She is a fighter and I am honored to know her. So, please come out and join us this Saturday as we hope to relieve some of the financial stress Kate's family has been under the past few years. Come for lunch, dinner or both and enjoy spaghetti, drink and a dessert. Then browse all the auction items. There will be lots of items to be auctioned including furniture, nascar items, weekend getaways, Christian Music Day at Carowinds family 4 pack, Christian CD packs, antiques and lots more. There will also be several raffles of gift certificates from area restaurants and businesses along with "Kisses for Kate" bracelets for sale.

Below is a poster for the benefit. How can you not come after seeing her sweet face?
